In Okinawa, secure windows and loose outdoor objects early, stay away from coasts, prepare for power and water outages, and follow local evacuation orders. Forecast source: The fixed editorial overview was prepared for August 7–9 using representative-city forecasts checked on August 6 at 9:40 a.m. JST, together with Japan Meteorological Agency tropical-cyclone information for Typhoon No. 13 (Dolphin). This page separately requests Open-Meteo daily forecast data in the browser for representative cities in all 47 prefectures, so card values can change whenever the page is loaded and may differ from the fixed editorial snapshot. Check the Japan Meteorological Agency’s official forecasts, warnings and advisories, Typhoon Dolphin details, typhoon map and early warning information, the Ministry of the Environment’s heatstroke alerts, and local-government instructions before acting.

Weather desk context: Friday is very warm in Hokkaido and humid in Tohoku and Kanto, with representative highs around 32°C in Sapporo, 31°C in Sendai and 34°C in Tokyo. The most dangerous mainland heat focuses on central and western Japan: about 36°C in Nagoya and 37°C in Osaka, Hiroshima and Fukuoka, with scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Kochi is cooler near 32°C with some rain. Saturday cools Sapporo sharply to about 26°C, but Tokyo remains near 34°C, Nagoya 36°C and Osaka 37°C while thunderstorms become more widespread. Sunday trends cloudier and wetter, with temperatures easing but humidity persisting. Typhoon Dolphin is the principal emergency concern: damaging winds and torrential rain are possible around Naha Friday, gusts above 80 km/h and a drenching thunderstorm Saturday, and very windy conditions with further thunderstorms Sunday. Forecast confidence decreases with time, and representative-city values do not describe an entire prefecture. These values are not official warnings and cannot predict local damage or evacuation orders.
